Arsenal have been stunned with the latest comments of World Cup winner on his transfer plans in the summer.

Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski who is known for his outspokenness has once again given the media something to write about when he revealed that “he could play anywhere” next season.

The out-of-favour Arsenal forward who is expected to return the Emirates at the end of the season, after spending the last 5 months on loan to Italian giants Inter Milan while speaking to Sky Sport Italia said:

“I could stay here [in Milan], go back to London or play elsewhere,” the German said.

“I cannot confirm anything now. I have a year of my contract with Arsenal left and I have talked to others, I’m open to everything.

“I always try to do more, I train hard and I always want to play but in the end the coach chooses the team. It is important to have goals, and ours is the Europa League.

“It’s not easy when you arrive in a new league. I think I am settled now.”

The German has made 82 appearances for Arsene Wenge’s side since joining the Gunners in the summer of 2012, but has found game-time hard to come by in the last two seasons.

Podolski, 29, is reported to be a summer target for Premier League side Newcastle United. And Arsenal would be willing to sell the 100,000-a-week striker to free up space – both in the Arsenal attack and on the wage-list.

The striker is also wanted by other clubs across Europe, and it is left to be seen who the German will eventually end up with this summer. For betting fans rooting for Podolski to remain in English Premier League, you can keep track of all your bet in one place using betbind.

Such a shame that he could not be at Arsenal right now. Some of the chances that fell to Giroud against Swansea would have been walloped by Prince Poldi. He has a hammer of a left foot and he could easily have scored at least two in the game earning us 3 points. I wish him all the best as he is a quality player and I am sure he will end up at the right place.

Giroud is a good striker no doubt but he just doesn’t do enough in helping the team in defending. Especially when we have the lead. Hopefully he would end up at a club that would value him more.
