Arsenal have made moves for Barcelona’s Jose Arnaiz after the 22-year-old’s impressive senior debut, according to stories in Spain.
Arnaiz netted in his first game for Barcelona before the international break as he scored his side’s third goal against Real Murcia with a beautiful low drive from outside the box.
And Mundo Deportivo suggests Arnaiz’s development has been noted by United and Arsenal, who have both made moves over his availability.
The youngster has a £17.8million release clause in his Barcelona deal after joining the Catalan side from second league side Real Valladolid in August.
Barcelona head coach Ernesto Valverde was full of admiration for Arnaiz after his debut in the Copa del Rey game, saying: “He has the goal in his head. I believed he could help us in this game and that it’s good for them [the B team players] to come and face a situation like this.
“He scored a great goal; he has a powerful shot. It’s the first step. He is already helping Barcelona B, but we are not two teams.
“We are just one: We are Barcelona, and we hope this first step that he has taken can help us in the future’.
Arnaiz informed Barcelona’s attention after impressing for Valladolid’s first team, where he netted 12 times in 41 league games.
Barcelona beat Murcia 3-0 at the Estadio Nueva Condomina in the first leg of their round of 32 cup tie ahead of the return game at the Nou Camp on November 29.
