Arsenal have reached an agreement with Sevilla to land Frenchman Steven N’Zonzi in the January transfer window.
N’Zonzi has a release clause of around £38m in his deal. However, Spanish outlet El Gol suggests that the North Londoners have not been made to trigger that.
Alternatively, Arsenal will reportedly spend £35.3m (€40.1m) for the 28-year-old, with £32.7m of that being made up of the transfer price and an extra £2.6m in bonuses.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is looking at midfield reinforcements as he prepares for the potential exits of Jack Wilshere, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, all of who will be out of a deal at the end of the campaign.
The teams Liverpool and Everton have also been linked with the defensive player, but stories in Spain claim that The Gunners have now won the race for his services.
N’Zonzi has earlier experience of English football having spent six seasons in the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City.
