Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is attracting interest from La Liga clubs, according to reports.
Chamberlain’s future at Arsenal was thrown into doubt last two weeks when reports emerged that this season would be his last chance to impress Wenger.
The winger also fuelled that report by claiming in a recent interview with Goals on Sunday that he would reconsider his future if he doesn’t get enough playing time this season. Reports are now claiming two Spanish clubs – namely; Sevilla and Valencia have been alerted by the player’s recent comments.
Responding to the player’s comments a few days back, Wenger said while he understands the winger’s frustration about lack of first team starts, he would do everything possible to keep him at the club beyond the current campaign.
Tuttosport via Football Insider are now saying we will have to fend off interest from the two Spanish clubs as they are seriously interested in the winger.
Chamberlain still has two years left in his contract at Arsenal and it appears we are not interested in selling him. We spent £12m on the winger to bring him from Southampton when he was 18 years old. He has developed into a popular player at the Emirates and it is likely we would give him more time to establish himself here than ship him out.
The midfielder has made over 150 appearances for us since he joined in 2011.
