According to reports from the ESPN, Arsenal and Tottenham have been handed a massive blow in signing Sampdoria striker Patrik Schick.

Now, Italian champions Juventus appear to have taken the lead in the race for Schick’s signature, after agreeing a £22m fee with Sampdoria.

However, he is expected to be confirmed as Juve’s first summer signing, although it is not yet clear whether he will play for them next season. Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero still hopes to be able to keep the player in Genoa on loan next season.

“Patrik Schick has this morning arrived at J Medical,” a statement on Juventus’ official website read. “The Czech attacker, born in 1996 and involved with his under-21 national team at the European Under-21 Championship in Poland, is undergoing a medical visit right now at the clinic located on the east side of the Allianz Stadium.”

Arsenal have been heavily linked with an array of top class striker this summer and have already seen a £87million bid rejected by Monaco for Kylian Mbappe.

The Gunners are also reportedly interested in signing Lyon striker Alexander Lacazette and have also seen a £28.7million bid rejected.
