Latest reports have linked Arsenal with a move for Ajax youngster Kasper Dolberg. The reports claim that the north London club who are in the hunt for a director of football to replace the departed Richard Law, is considering former star Marc Overmars as an option. Overmars, currently the director of football at Ajax has previously played for the Gunners in his playing days and might consider a reunion with Arsene Wenger’s side
According to reports, If Overmars were to move to the Gunners, he will look to bring in Kasper Dolberg along with him. It would no doubt be a tremendous gift for Arsenal fans with Danish striker reputed as one of the deadliest young strikers across Europe.
The Ajax academy has a history of producing talent that has gone on to take the game by the scruff of its neck and becoming ace players. Dolberg, who is a product of that academy, is considered to have the similar potential.
The Danish attacker can play on either wing as well, as he has scored 28 goals and created 10 in 63 appearances for the Holland giants. The 23-goal man from last season just turned 20 earlier this year and has a promising career ahead.
As for Arsenal, manager Arsene Wenger will surely have to sell some of his strikers should Dolberg decide to move, as it would be quite difficult for him to rotate five first team strikers in the same squad.
the 20-year-old Danish forward might be a promising star for the future, and that is what might tempt Wenger and company, more than anything, to secure the young Danish forward before he becomes world-class and a hefty price tag is placed on him.
