Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal are interested in signing AS Nancy’s 19-year-old midfielder Youssef Ait Bennasser, according to reports.
Having already all but completed the signing of Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny, Arsenal need for further depth has drawn them to the youngster who has played 17 out of 19 games for AS Nancy this season, after just breaking into the first team this season.
Bennasser, a 6-foot-tall defensive midfielder who can also play as a central midfielder and has been described as “an imposing presence in front of the back four” has scored once and assisted twice already this season, with AS Nancy at the top of Ligue 2 halfway through the season.
The 19-year-old worked his way through the youth ranks at Nancy and became part of the first team this season, but he has quickly established himself in the team, keeping out highly rated French youth international Remi Walter, from the team.
His performances have attracted the likes of Lille and Atletico Madrid, but Arsenal are reported to have scouted him, and having been impressed by him would now make a move, but Nancy would only agree to a deal which would see him loaned back to them till the end of the season.
