Riyad Mahrez has set his heart on a move to Arsenal amid interest from Chelsea and Liverpool, according to reports.

The 2015/2016 PFA player of the year winner revealed in May that he wants to leave Leicester City for a big club this summer and Arsenal were one of the foremost clubs to be linked with him.

Wenger is a known admirer of the forward, having made attempts to sign him last summer and it was claimed that we would make a bid for the Algerian before the summer transfer window ends.

Chelsea and then Liverpool were subsequently linked with the winger and many thought they held an advantage in the race for his signature due to their participation in next season’s Champions .

However, it has emerged that it is indeed Arsenal who are favorites to sign Mahrez.

According to reports in Algeria via The Metro, Mahrez is prepared to overlook Arsenal’s lack of Champions League football and move to the Emirates because of Arsene Wenger.

The report claims the midfielder is valued by Leicester at €30m and should Arsenal meet that valuation, Mahrez will be heading to the Emirates.

Mahrez is one of the numerous players who reportedly wants to play under Arsene Wenger, which goes on to show how much impact a manager can have on transfers.

The Algeria International would be a good replacement for Alexis Sanchez who is apparently pushing for a move away from the Emirates.
