Arsene Wenger has no plan to strengthen his squad in the winter transfer window, according to reports.
Arsenal currently sit fourth on the Premier League table, nine points behind league leaders Chelsea. Following back to back defeats to Manchester City and Everton, supporters have begun to fear that the club would not be able to successfully challenge for the league title, hence calling for reinforcements but that will not be enough to force Wenger into the transfer market.
According to Goal, Wenger is not expected to bring in any first team player next month.
Some Gooners are of the opinion that Wenger needs to strengthen in January in order to challenge Chelsea for the league title but it is unlikely that the club will sign a player due to several stars returning in the new year.
Per Mertesacker, Danny Welbeck, Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey are all set to return to full fitness in the new year which will give Wenger more options going into the second half of the season.
No major departure is expected also but Carl Jenkinson, Rob Holding and Chuba Akpom could leave the Emirates on loan.
Obviously, Arsenal still have room for improvement, one can’t really fault Wenger for not wanting to make any major investment. The boss has enough options available to him in virtually all positions, meaning we will have to sell before we sign a player.
Although the quality in the squad is debatable but I’m confident that the current players can deliver if we are lucky with injuries.
