France international Moussa Sissoko declared his love for Arsenal before completing a move to Tottenham, according to Standard Sport.

The 27 year old was linked with a move to the Emirates earlier in the summer but Wenger refused to make a move for the midfielder who later completed a deadline day transfer to bitter rivals Tottenham.

Before joining our rivals, Sissoko called Arsenal the club of his heart and revealed he would jump at the chance of playing at the Emirates.

He said:

“It is very flattering. Arsenal is one of the best European teams. To be watched by that sort of club, that proves that you are a quality player.

“Everyone knows, I often said it when I was young, Arsenal is the club of my heart, because there were quite a few French players there like Thierry Henry, Robert Pires, Sylvain Wiltord, Patrick Vieira who was my idol…

“The beautiful Arsenal. We will see. I cannot tell you if I am going to go to Arsenal. For the moment, I am focused on the French national team and the Euros.”

However, there was no chance Sissoko would have joined us this summer as Wenger had already signed Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach. The France midfielder then joined Tottenham for around £30m from Newcastle.
