Arsenal have to hold new contract talks with their playmaker Mesut Ozil whose current contract expires at the end of the season.
The player’s agent confirmed last week that talks between the two parties are at a very good stage, although Arsene Wenger has revealed that both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil could leave in the January transfer window. “It is a possibility”, the Gunners boss said it in the interview before the game against Bournemouth.
Inter Milan and Manchester United are being linked with welcoming Ozil’s services in January, but the English giants are leading the race to sign him.
The player’s agent, in fact, has also recently confirmed that his client would like to play in the Premier League for at least two or three years.
According to the close sources, The Gunners are open to selling Ozil for a fee in the region of € 23 million (£ 20 million) if the German international fails to sign a new contract before January.
The incoming winter transfer window, in fact, is the last chance Arsenal have to earn money from Ozil’s transfer.
Mesut Ozil joined Arsenal in summer of 2013 from La Liga giants Real Madrid for £42.5m for a reported transfer fee. The 28-year-old German international has scored 32 goals and collected 57 assists in 166 games for the Gunners
