Neither safe hand has really convinced in goal for Liverpool as number one, so supporters will be relieved to see the side now looking for an upgrade in the form of the Englishman.

Butland, 25, has developed into one of the most solid goalkeepers in England and looks prepared to make the step up to a top club.

This development would be a major blow for the Gunners, however, who also look in need of a fresh signing in between the sticks after some suspect displays from former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech of recent, while second choice goalie David Ospina also doesn’t look like a better alternative.
