Arsenal summer target Edinson Cavani has perhaps thrown his future at PSG into doubts after the player revealed that a transfer would ‘depend not on the footballer but on the club’.
The Uruguay international striker joined the French Champions in the summer of 2013 and has scored 64 goals in 104 appearances for the Capital club.
Cavani has been heavily linked with a move away from Laurent Blanc’s side in the last couple of transfer windows, with his desire to play in a central area said to be a reason for his unhappiness.
The 28-year-old star who has scored eight goals in 10 games this season has revealed that for other clubs to land his signature in the upcoming transfer window, it would depend mostly on PSG’s readiness to sell rather than his desire to leave.
“In football, there are a lot of things that depend not on the footballer but on the club,” Cavani told RMC.
“Often when a player decides to change club it’s not solely his choice. It’s a decision made in agreement with the club, which seeks the best solution for both parties”.
Arsenal, as well as other clubs keen on Cavani’s signature will be encouraged by this statement, and we would sure see a major transfer tug-of-war in January if PSG decides to cash in on their star forward.
