Arsenal haven’t made a bid for Juan Cuadrado, the player’s agent has revealed.
Last week reports claimed Juventus had rejected a bid in the region of £17m from Arsenal for the wing back. It was claimed that the Italian champions are willing to sell but will demand at least €30m for the Colombian.
That report has now been rubbished by Cuadrado’s agent, Alessandro Lucci who claims there has been no offer for his client.
In an interview with Gianluca Di Marzio, Lucci said Cuadrado is not interested in leaving Juventus and he is yet to be contacted by any club about signing the Colombian.
“Juan does not want to leave Juve and Juve do not want to sell him.
“So all negotiations, or pseudo- negotiations you read or hear, have no basis in reality.
“Cuadrado could be of interest to other clubs, no doubt about it.
“But no one has contacted me directly or initiated a negotiation with Juventus.
“And I add one thing, the future of Cuadrado, I am the only one who can talk about it.
“No other agent can initiate contacts or exchanges with my client.”
Cuadrado put in some impressive performances for Juventus last season but struggled to displace Dani Alves from Max Allegri’s first team. I don’t think he has done enough for Arsenal to be running after him.
I never took the reported Arsenal interest seriously because there was no basis. It’s a good thing that his agent has cleared the air now.
