Manchester City are leading the race to sign Alexis Sanchez, according to Chilean Journalist Maks Cardenas via Manchester Evening News.
The Chilean is being linked with a move away from the Emirates as his contract draws closer to its final year, with no sign of a new contract.
Bayern Munich and Manchester City are said to have made offers to sign the striker but it is the Etihad side who are believed to be leading the race to sign the Chilean.
Chelsea, Paris Saint Germain and Juventus are also believed to be interested in the forward. City and Bayern Munich are the only ones to have already made opening bids to sign the striker but the player would prefer to move to the Etihad.
Guardiola coached Sanchez at Barcelona few years ago and the Chilean is keen to reunite with his former boss.
City are reportedly willing to spend up to £50m on Sanchez but they would face a big problem as Arsenal will prefer to sell to Bayern Munich.
The Gunners have warned they won’t sell the striker to a rival club at any price and the player’s representative would also prefer the player join Bayern Munich.
Arsenal will resume talks to extend Sanchez’s contract in the summer and we are hoping he will sign an extension here. The striker has been a key part of our squad this season, scoring 30 goals this season. Hence it is imperative we keep him here as he will be crucial to our future success.
