Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal have stolen the lead on their rivals in the race to sign German teenage prospect Leroy Sane.
The youngster has attracted a lot of interest with his individual brilliance for Schalke 04 this season haven already registered five goals and as many assist with only half of the season gone.
The midfielder who is frequently talked about as the next big thing of German football is currently interesting several European heavyweights. While Goal understands Man City’s interest in the player is concrete, The Mirror claims La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona have joined Manchester City in the race.
However it is the Gunners who are favourites after reportedly submitting a bid. According to Bild via HTC sport, the Gunners have placed a bid of £20.9m to secure him ahead of their rivals.
The Gunners, plagued by injuries this season, are keen on new players to strengthen their squad as there is growing belief that this season yet presents the best opportunity for them to reclaim the title after an 11year drought.
If the bid is accepted by the German side, Gunner’s manager Arsene Wenger will still have a lot to do in convincing the player to make a move to the Emirates with several European giants also after his signature.
