Earlier in the month, reports emerged that Arsenal were close to a deal for French and Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir but it wasn’t long and nothing was heard. Reports have surface again and this time, the Daily Star is in the claim that Arsenal are close to a £60million deal for the star.

All the efforts of the Gunners to get Alexis Sanchez to signing a new deal has proved abortive and Fekir has been identified as the perfect man to step into the big boots of the Chilean.

Fekir has been in impressive form this term, scoring 11 goals in 11 appearances and providing four assists in Ligue One this term. His barnstorming display has not gone unnoticed around Europe – the report further claims that Atletico Madrid and Juventus have also been watching him.

Fekir can play in any position across the front three and he will offer Arsene Wenger something unique in attack. Arsenal have played with Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Alexandre Lacazette in attack but we could see a different front three next year.

There is not telling if Fekir will be allowed to complete the switch in January, but Transfermarketweb has claimed that the deal is highly likely now.
