Arsenal Confirm Date For FA Cup 5th Round Tie Against Middlesbrough.

After being handed Middlesbrough in the draw on Monday, FA Cup title holders – Arsenal – have via their official website confirmed the date for the 5th round tie against the Championship side.

Middlesbrough, who are currently 3rd on the Championship table behind Bournemouth and Derby County will make their way to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday 15th of February.

Middlesbrough saw off Premier League title holders – City – in the 4th round tie last weekend, putting away 2-second half goals against Manuel Pellegrini’s men in a stunning display.

Now in high spirit, Boro have threatened to push on with their FA Cup onslaught despite drawing Arsenal Monday night. With Boro midfielder Adam Clayton adding spice to the tie by suggesting it will be a good away day for their away fans:

“Another Easy away day for the boroooo boys hahaha can’t wait !! #utb”

Currently seeking their way back to the Premier League next season, Boro will look to stop Wenger from winning a record 12th FA Cup for Arsenal.

History will count on the part of Wenger’s team also as Arsenal have qualified from four of the last four FA Cup ties involving Middlesborough, per Opta, including the win in the semi-final in 2002 en route the Double.

However, Wenger will be wary that his last fifth round defeat was a home game to a Championship team, Blackburn in 2013 and there will be no complacency in the approach to this game in three weeks.

Here are details of the game below:
