Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger remains optimistic that Aaron Ramsey will renew his contract at the Emirates Stadium, according to Goal.
The Welsh international’s contract at Arsenal expires in 2019, and Wenger is focused on getting him to sign a new deal.
Arsenal have had trouble tying players down on new deals the recent past. Mesut Ozil managed to sign a contract in February, but Alexis Sanchez departed to Manchester United with his deal at Arsenal running out in the summer.
However, Wenger has said that Arsenal are commited to keeping their own players, saying:
We want the players to stay at this club. That’s why I always speak about values. This club has been created by people who work in the fabric. One of the few clubs in the world. We want our players to be proud of the values that have been created by people. They are based on hard work, humility, desire to be together. Those are the values we want the players to take charge of, stay together and show these values. That’s what we want, that’s what I want. That’s my dream.
