Arsenal are moving closer in the race to sign Paulo Dybala with reports that Palermo’s President would be holding talks with the Gunners in London in the coming days.
The 21-year old hotshot has been in the news for the best part of six months having come on to the scene in the Serie A this season as one of the best young strikers. Arsenal staffs have watched him play and are convinced of his immense potentials and a bid of £30m is believed to have been offered by Arsenal. A bid slightly above Palermo’s £29.5m initial asking price per the Metro.
With 11 goals in 20 appearances for the Rosanero, Dybala looks to be taking keenly to his tag as the new Sergio Aguero. That would make the Gunners the envy of many especially if the above quoted sum were to be sufficient in pricing him to the Emirates. Zamparini had initially boasted that his priced asset would not be sold except for a very stunning price but Palermo are believed to be in need of huge funds now, hence necessitating a possible willingness to lower their offer.
Wenger is a professed admirer of the passion and hunger peculiar to South American strikers and going by the turn out so far of his irresistible Chilean, Alexis Sanchez, he will not bat an eye on the huge figure required to land Dybala. The previous attempt to sign Luis Suarez, another high-flying South American striker, shows exactly what kind of striker the manager admires.
But all of this will be majorly discussed fully after this season as Olivier Giroud and the other forwards available at the Emirates have proven to be good enough to handle the challenges of the season. Dybala looks like one who will continue to get better as the season concludes, when you may now expect the Gunners to land the sucker punch if the negotiations proceed well from now till then.
