Arsenal are no longer interested in signing Russia striker Aleksandr Kokorin, according to the player’s former Sporting Director.
The Dynamo Moscow man has been linked with a move to the Emirates and some reports claimed he’d complete the move this month.
According to London24, the Gunners were interested in signing the striker on loan last summer but Dynamo Moscow weren’t interested in a loan bid.
The player’s former boss Kostantin Sarsania has revealed the player’s next club is unknown as Wenger dropped his interest in signing the striker.
“I don’t know where Kokorin will continue his career,”
“There was interest on the part of Arsenal, but now there is not.”
Wenger previously claimed he’d be busy in the ongoing transfer and it was thought he was going to sign a striker and a midfielder. But since completing the deal to sign Mohammed Elneny from FC Basel, wenger has suggested he is done in this month transfer window, ruling out any possibility of signing Kokorin.
Wenger publicly claims he will prefer to have Dani Welbeck return from injury has he doesn’t think there is any available player in the market better than the injured striker.
Kokorin has spent all his career in the Russian league and he is keen to make the move abroad
