Inter Milan have joined the race to sign Wolfsburg defender Ricardo Rodriguez, according to reports.
Rodriguez, 23, is a long-time Arsenal target and have been linked with a move to Arsenal for over two years.
Last summer, he was expected to follow his compatriot Granit Xhaka to the Emirates but a move didn’t materialize for unknown reasons despite both the player and his club wanting to part ways then.
Just few weeks ago, Italian Journalist Emanuele Giulianelli claimed Wenger could still move for Rodriguez if Gibbs who is attracting interests from West Ham, Swansea and Crystal Palace decides to leave the Emirates this month.
But according to Calciomercato via Gunnersphere.com, Inter Milan are also interested in signing the defender.
The Italian giants who are now being financed by wealthy Chinese owners are desperate to overhaul their playing squad and have identified Rodriguez as one player who would strengthen them.
The Italian side has indicated that the £21m valuation wouldn’t be a problem and want the player to snub both Arsenal and Chelsea – who have also been linked with him.
Obviously, Rodriguez will leave Wolfsburg this month but his destination I am not sure of.
However, the chance of the player moving to the Emirates is very slim, it will have to take a drastic change in situation like Gibbs pushing for a move before we will make a move for his services.
