You can be sure that summer transfer plans are already under way at Arsenal and with the attack being a possible area of addition, the Gunners may now have the go ahead to pounce on Palermo for their highly rated star, Paulo Dybala.
The 21-year old Argentine forward has caught the eye in the Serie A this season with 11 goals in 20 games and despite the initially perceived reluctance of Palermo to part with him unless for a very high fee, reports now have it that a £29.5m, per the Metro, would be enough for them to let him go as they are in need of cash.
Rated as the new Sergio Aguero, Dybala is already been talked up as the next big thing and is tipped to be a huge success in the Premier League as his pace and the buzz with which he takes on defenders are seen as qualities suited to the Premier League. Arsenal had been heavily linked with him in the run up to the January window and he did admit an inclination towards wanting to ply his trade with the Gunners.
“I can’t deny that going to Arsenal and playing in the Premier League would be great, but at the moment I’m a Palermo player”. Dybala had once said.
The one hitch would be the price being quoted as Wenger will have to be fully convinced of his potential to be a true world class player before splashing such amounts for him. Besides, he still has a decision to make on what to do with Lukas Podolski, Joel Campbell and Yaya Sanogo. Podolski may not return to the Emirates in July but Campbell and Sanogo are believed to still be in Wenger’s plan for the future.
Then there is Olivier Giroud proving himself as one of Europe’s most underrate strikers, with Alexis, Welbeck, Walcott and the Ox providing all the possible support from wide positions. Dybala could be a good challenger to all here mentioned but it still remains a long way from being done.
