Arsenal have been told to forget about signing M’Baye Niang this month, according to reports in Italy.
In December, we covered a report claiming Arsene Wenger was keeping tabs on Niang’s situation at AC Milan and was open to the idea of making a January bid but that won’t happen anymore as the Italian giants have ruled out selling the forward this month.
Wenger is a big fan of the forward and tried to sign him some years back but the player opted to join Milan. It was suggested that the striker is still high on Wenger’s wish list and the boss is watching his situation with keen interest.
Gazetta Dello sport via Team talk has now revealed that the player would not be allowed to leave the San Siro this month.
The Serie A side view the forward as a key part of their squad and have warned suitors that the player won’t be sold at any price this month.
It was widely claimed that Milan will look to sell Niang this month as they plan to rebuild their squad but the change in mind means interested clubs will now have to turn attention elsewhere.
Arsenal are said to be one of those clubs but I don’t think so. Wenger is not in great need of a centre forward and he is unlikely going to pursue one this winter.
Also, Niang hasn’t done anything special at Milan that shows he will improve our squad a great deal, so why spend huge money to bring him here this month to just come sit on our bench?
