When Wenger said he is working round the clock to bring in a striker, he wasn’t bluffing, but it is proving a difficult task with reports revealing Dynamo Moscow has rejected a bid from Arsenal for striker Alexander Kokorin.
Reports have it that Wenger was looking at a possible one year loan with an option to buy, which is understandable, given that the striker has no experience outside Russia. But Dynamo Moscow are having none of it With the club rejecting the offer.
The striker looks very likely to leave the club though with his agent, Cyril Loginov stating that he is working on a possible transfer for his client.
“Right now I’m working on Kokorin’s transfer.
“There are many reasons to think that it will [happen] in one of two teams before August 31.”
Kokorin though is keen on the transfer, with sources saying he even offered to sign a year extension on the 12 months left on his current deal, so the loan could happen, but Dynamo rejected.
We keep our arms crossed and see where this deal leads, seems Wenger isn’t very confident of his target, but has his hands forced either way. Let’s wait and see who Wenger signs at the end of the day.
