Arsenal has been given a huge boost in the pursuit of Spain and Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas.
This report is according to Metro, who claim that the Gunners have been handed a massive boost to complete the transfer of Casillas, after recent reports that Madrid are trying to convince him to leave the club.
The report also says that Arsenal are keen on signing the 33-year-old, and will sanction the transfer of the Spaniard immediately he makes up his mind to leave the Spanish capital.
Arsenal were reportedly interested in signing Casillas last summer but a move for the Champions League and World Cup winner broke down, and Arsenal moved instead for Nice shot stopper – David Ospina, who impressed at the World Cup with Colombia.
The £165,000-a-week star is currently tied to Madrid until 2017, but the Spanish giants are offering him a generous pay-off to take a move to either Arsenal or Liverpool, according to Spanish radio station Onda Cero.
This news has placed Arsenal on red alert, and a move is said to be underway for the veteran in the coming weeks.
Arsenal has also been linked with Chelsea legend Petr Cech, who is on the fringe at Chelsea.
