Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal are set to raid fellow Premier League title contenders Leicester City this January.
The Gunners who are looking to overhaul their player recruitment staff in order to discover more potential to keep in touch with European football giants and are targeting two members of the Foxes’ back room staff.
Daily Mail reports that Leicester’s head of technical scouting Ben Wrigglesworth has been targeted as part of the Gunners overhaul while the Foxes’ scout Steve Walsh could also arrive as part of the revamp.
Wenger is believed to be interested in the rebuild of his scouting network to keep ahead in the game as he wants to be informed about potential superstars long before his rivals.
The manager acknowledges the Gunners posses a very strong scouting network in Spain which has led to superstar signings of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez added to the smart acquisitions of Hector Bellerin, Nacho Monreal and Santi Carzola over the years but wants more of that strength in other European countries and Germany in particular.
The Gunners head scout Steve Rowley is expect to remain as the spearhead of the club’s scouting operation.
Rowley will actually oversee the changes to the scouting department.
The Gunners who are very keen to bolster their domestic and global scouting network will also recruit new spies at youth and senior level to ensure talents do not slip through their net.
