Andrea Belloti has apparently ruled out a move to Arsenal, insisting he wants to remain at Torino.
The Italian striker has been linked with a move to the Emirates recently with Wenger said to be keen on his services.
However, he has dealt Arsenal’s chances of signing him a huge blow by claiming he doesn’t want to leave his current club.
This will excite the decision makers at Torino who are keen to keep hold of their star man. The Italians have moved to offer the striker a new deal in a bid to secure his future and the player has hinted that he will sign a new deal because he is happy where he is.
He said, as quoted by The Daily Star: “I am a Torino player and my agent is talking about renewal. I’m happy to stay here.
“I must prove my value. Luckily I’ve scored 10 goals in 12 games and want and continue for my sake and for Torino.
“I hope to take the team into Europe “
The implication of this is that we will have to spend heavily if we want to sign the striker in the future. Torino want to include a release clause of €80m in his new contract which foreign clubs will have to activate if they want to sign the striker.
No doubt, Belotti is a very promising striker but there is no way he is worth €80m.
Non-English clubs always try to exploit Premier League clubs interested in their players because of the amount of money English clubs are exposed to but knowing Wenger’s history in handling transfers, he is unlikely to fall for their trick.
