Arsenal have made a £15.4 million bid for Juventus youngster Daniele Rugani, according to the Metro
The center back who was previously co-owned by Juventus and Empoli but had his full ownership bought by Juventus earlier this year, and spent the last season on loan at Empoli where he made 40 appearances scoring 3 goals.
The youngster is seen by Arsenal as a long term replacement for Mertesacker; however, Juventus are reported to have rejected an earlier bid from the Gunners for his signature.
Though Rugani is yet to make a senior appearance for Juventus, he is highly regarded by Allegri, with talks suggesting he would be part of the first team next season after raking in a total of 78 appearances during his stay at Empoli.
Arsenal however, are not the only ones interested in the Italy U21 international, Serie A rivals Napoli are also said to be interested and have already had a loan bid turned down.
