Arsenal Legend Ray Parlour has backed Eddie Howe to take charge of Arsenal when Wenger steps down as boss.
Arsenal chiefs are reportedly discussing the possibility of replacing Wenger with Howe at the end of the season and Parlour who believes the Premier League does not have enough English managers in its top seven has backed Howe to take charge of Arsenal but not immediately.
“I don’t think we have enough British managers in the Premier League,” Parlour told TalkSport.
“You look at the top level, look at the top six or seven, where are the British managers? So, Eddie Howe can be the first one who steps in.
“I think Eddie Howe will look at it and if he did get a good job I think he would bring more youngsters in, more English talent or British talent through.”
“I don’t think he would know enough about big foreign players to attract them.
“He is doing a wonderful job at Bournemouth and he could be a manager in the future for Arsenal, but I think it is a little bit too soon for him at the moment.”
Howe has been impressive since he led Bournemouth to the Premier League in 2014/2015 season and is currently rated as one of the best English managers in the Premier League.
