Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Wenger’s claim of him having no plans to make a second major signing in the ongoing winter window can be taking very lightly as news have emerged about a possible Arsenal bid for Alvaro Morata.
The Gunners are understood to be readying an offer for the Juventus forward. The Spaniard was a target for the Gunners in 2014 when he turned down a move to the Emirates in favour of a move to Turin. The Gunners ended up signing Danny Welbeck from rivals Manchester United. The striker seems to have remained on the radar of the Gunners as they are putting together an offer worth around £26 million for Morata.
Several reports in Italy have revealed that the striker was growing increasingly frustrated with life in Italy.
The striker who formed a telepathic partnership with the departed Carlos Tevez last season to help Juventus to an impressive double and a Champions League final appearance has had to make do with a place on the bench this campaign. Juventus coach Massimo Allegri has preferred to partner summer arrivals Mario Madzukic and Paulo Dybala in attack.
The Spanish striker who became the first player to score in four consecutive Champions League games arrived from Madrid with a buy back clause inserted in his contract. But the ban imposed on the Spanish heavyweights prevents them from signing players thereby freeing Arsenal to sign the player.
