Kroos contract at Madrid doesn’t run out until the summer of 2020 but the German international is reportedly considering his future at the Bernabeu and could push for an exit this summer to the Emirates.
It is believed that the club has tabled as much as £35m in order to tempt Madrid into selling their top midfielder.
Wenger has received criticism for not spending in the transfer window and should he manage to seal the signing of the 26 year old, it will be a statement of intent from the French man and the club.
It is also believed that signing Kroos could convince Mesut Ozil to snub interest from Barcelona and remain at the Emirates.
Madrid are reportedly ready to sell one of their midfielders as they eye move for Leicester City’s N’Golo Kante who has also been linked with a move to the Emirates.
Kroos has been a superb performer for Madrid since joining in 2014 but could be sacrificed for a more physically imposing midfielder this summer.
