Teenage sensation Anthony Martial may be plying his trade at rivals Manchester United but that’s because Arsene Wenger passed up the idea of signing the star.
The Arsenal boss revealed that there was no value in what he called a desperate move, signing a teenager for initial fee of €50million.
Having been priced out of the first, Wenger is however ready to sign the second Anthony Martial, this time for a bargain. The Gunners boss is lining up a deal to sign 17-year-old AS Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe.
The teenage prodigy dubbed ‘the next Anthony Martial’ broke into the Monaco first team this season and after a series of promising performances, a number of top sides have reportedly taken an interest in the teen sensation with Arsenal reported to be chief amongst them. Reports emanating from France claim The Gunners have already sent a scout to Monaco with the possibility of striking a deal.
French publication L’Equipe via Pundit Arena claim that Arsenal scout, Giles Grimandi, is now at Monaco in discussions with the sole purpose of finalising a transfer for the rising star.
The young striker is versatile forward who can operate up front on his own or play a supporting role on the wings.
