Several days after his magnificent performance against Norwich, Arsenal’s teenage sensation Eddie Nketiah is still making headlines.
Few Gooners had heard of the 18-year-old young striker before Tuesday night’s League Cup match against Norwich.
Then everything changed, as Nketiah scored with his first touch against the Canaries. He’d only been on the pitch for 15 seconds before he stuck the ball in the net.
Nketiah then sealed his name in folklore in extra time as he has scored the winner for the Gunners.
He made history by becoming the first player to score for Arsenal who was born after Arsene Wenger became the manager in October of 1996.
The 18-year-old started life at the Chelsea academy but joined Arsenal after they released him two years ago.
After his heroics against Norwich, the north London club are planning to reward Eddie Nketiah with a significant pay rise. The Sun reports the following:
Arsenal are ready to reward their wonderkid Eddie Nketiah with a massive 650 percent pay hike.
The 18-year-old striker could see his current £2,000-a-week contract replaced by a bumper new £15k-a-week, five-year deal.
Talks on a new contract are set to start in the next month.
