Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
The immediate future of Arsenal right back Mathieu Debuchy seems to have been resolved at long last.
The defender has been linked all winter with premier league sides West Bromwich Albion and bottom of the log Aston Villa as well as European giants Paris Saint-Germain and AS Roma.
PSG were initially thought to have won the race for his signature when the Frenchman hinted at a move to his homeland when he revealed before Christmas when questioned about rumours linking him away “A move to France, Why not?”. The Daily Mail then reported that Debuchy would prefer a loan switch to Roma this month.
The Birmingham Mail via the Metro has now confirmed that the defender has decided against moving abroad and would instead head to Aston Villa for the remainder of the campaign.
The Frenchman’s departure from the Emirates was always a matter of when and not if after Gunners manager confirmed that there is a possibility of the player making a move when speaking to the media before his side’s FA cup victory over Sunderland.
Debuchy, 30, is understood to be seriously desperate about a move away from the Emirates.
Aston Villa currently sit at the bottom of the premier league table and are desperate to bring in reinforcements this month.
