Arsenal have reportedly joined Paris Saint Germain in the race to sign highly rated French goalkeeper Lucas Kayambo.
The goalie who is currently on the books of Paris based side FC Solitaires is just 13 years old but has started to show quality way above what is expected of his age. He was recently named the best goalkeeper in two French competitions held in Lille earlier this year – The Panama cup and The Danone cup.
According to reports in France, clubs are already in awe of the youngsters quality, suggesting top European clubs are already interested in signing him. France Football claim, Arsenal and PSG are the two clubs that are most interested in signing the goalkeeper.
If we are really interested, then we would have a lot to do to convince the youngster to join us. The goalie is already playing for a club in Paris and at his tender age, could prefer to remain close to his family which would give PSG advantage in the race for his signature.
However, he could also be tempted to join us because we have a good track record of signing players at a tender age from their country and helping them develop into top players.
Kayambo should just look at Hector Bellerin and Francis Coquelin who have developed into first team regulars under the tutelage of our coaches as a good example.
