Arsenal are among the favorites to sign Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, according to reports.

The Cote d’ivoire international fell out with Pep Guardiola at the beginning of the season and was frozen out of the first team until his public apology few weeks ago.

Despite his public apology, it is believed that he is not part of Guardiola’s plans, having featured just twice for the citizen’s this season and will be allowed to leave the Etihad in the next transfer window.

Bookmakers are tipping the Emirates as a likely destination for the midfielder.

According to Betvictor.com via HITC Sports, Arsenal are among the favorites to sign the midfielder. The odds for him moving to the Emirates is at 5/1.

The likes of PSG and Inter Milan are joint favorites with Arsenal and are also placed at 5/1 to sign the midfielder.

London rivals West Ham and Manchester United who have previously been linked with the midfielder follow closely at 8/1.

Toure is one of the greatest players in City’s history and one of the best in the Premier League in recent years so it is not surprising that he has a lot of clubs chasing him.

What is a bit surprising is Arsenal’s reported interest in the midfielder. We currently have more than enough options in the midfield position and I don’t really see the need to bring one in now.

Also, Toure is already 33, closing in on the end of his career and signing players well into their thirties isn’t in line with our philosophy – even though we bought Petr Cech at about the same age.

We will have to wait and see where Toure ends up but it’s unlikely to be the Emirates and i’ll be shocked if he does.
