Arsenal are interested in signing Crontone teenager Aniello Viscovo, according to reports.

Arsenal have been linked with a lot of teenagers in recent weeks so it wouldn’t sound new to Gooners anymore as we must have gotten used to reports linking us to talented young players.

The reason for this is not far fetched. Arsenal have been a favorable place for youngsters looking to develop into top players over the years and now virtually every talented youngster in the game must be linked with a move to Arsenal at some point in their youth career.

Viscovo is the latest, the 17 year old primarily plays as a goalkeeper and is currently on the books of Serie A side Crotone.

Although he is yet to make his first team debut, Tutto Mercato Web claims Arsene Wenger has been impressed by his performances for Crotone’s academy side.

The report claims Wenger will make a move in January but his club has big plans for him and will fight off Arsenal’s interest.

Crotone are yet to offer the player a professional contract and that has reportedly alerted Wenger. Viscovo’s agent Liberti recently confirmed interest in the goalkeeeper and failed to rule out a possible departure which should give Arsenal a huge boost.

Liberti explained, as quoted by Sportwitness: “I’m aware of the interest of big clubs. Especially because he is a very serious and professional guy, going beyond the technical skills and value that make the difference, and he’s then able to make an important professional career.”

I don’t really know much about Viscovo but if Arsenal are really interested in him then he must be a very talented lad.

However, we know it’s not possible to sign all the young players we scout, so we will have to wait until the January transfer window to find out if the youngster will be joining us.

It will be an interesting one to keep an eye on.
