Arsenal and England midfield star Jack Wilshere, who has been out of action since November with an ankle injury, is now in line to make the Arsenal side that will travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley this weekend.
Wilshere, who has been steadily making his way back from injury and into the first team squad was given a valuable 90 minute run-out with the under-21’s as they thrashed Stoke City 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium earlier this week.
Arsenal take on Reading on the 18th of April in the semi-final of the FA Cup and Wilshere is hoping to be given a Wembley start.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Wilshere said;
“You can train as much as you like but you can’t get that match fitness unless you play,”
“In the Premier League, you know how quick it is so you have to get back to that speed.”
“I feel like I’m ready to play some part. When you’re injured you look at your comeback date and the games around that time. “
“The one that stands out is the FA Cup semi-final but even before that we’ve got big games and we’ve got to go to Manchester United as well, so there’s a chance to play this season.”
Wilshere has had his problems on and off the pitch this season which have been well documented.
However, He will be looking to impress Arsene Wenger as he tries to regain his place back from the currently in-form Aaron Ramsey, as there is little or no chance of him ousting either of Francis Coquelin or Santi Cazorla in the midfield.
