Ex Gunner Perry Grooves has urged Arsenal to sign Steven N’Zonzi this summer.
Wenger is looking to strengthen the squad ahead of the upcoming campaign and is reportedly eyeing a move for a midfielder.
Several midfielders have been linked with Arsenal but Grooves believes N’Zonzi will be the perfect signing.
Groves was quoted as saying by the Daily Cannon:
“I’ve been a massive fan of Steven N’Zonzi. I think he could do a real job in the centre of that midfield for us, adding the steel he did at Stoke and Blackburn. He’s a destroyer.”
Groves has apparently struck the nail on its head with the claim that N’Zonzi will add the much needed physical presence to our midfield.
However, the challenge is, Arsenal already have enough defensive midfielder’s and adding N’Zonzi to Coquelin, Elneny and Xhaka wouldn’t be ideal.
A box to box midfielder is more of a priority and the former Stoke City man isn’t one that makes those attacking forays in games, although he has a decent goal scoring record for a midfielder.
Even if Arsenal were to sign N’Zonzi, he would cost In excess of £25m which can be termed an extravagant spending considering our options in that position already, unless someone leaves.
