Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown believes neither Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain nor Theo Walcott will leave the club this summer, via HITC sport.
The duo have been linked with a move out of the Emirates with Walcott being linked with a £26m move to West Ham while Oxlade Chamberlain has been linked with more than one quarter of the Premier League teams.
It was reported by the independent that Wenger was considering placing Chamberlain on the transfer list this summer s he believes the 22 year old development has stalled since he moved to Arsenal in 2011.
Despite having more than a century of games under his belt at the club, Wenger believes he hasn’t lived up to the potential that made him swoop for his services five years ago. The report further claimed the Gunners where prepared to let him go as long as they can recover more than the £12m paid for his services in 2011.
Walcott himself was linked with a move to West Ham after his poor display against Manchester United in February and it was claimed that Wenger had given up on the 26 year old forward as well but Martin Keown believes otherwise and claims he doesn’t see any of the players leaving the club this summer.
“The basis of Arsene Wenger’s management has always been loyalty,” he told the Daily Mail.
“He is loyal to his staff and is loyal to his players. He’s very solid and stable in everything he does.”
“There are rumours of people like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott departing but I don’t think Wenger will allow those players to leave. He won’t want to make radical changes.”
Chamberlain is currently out of action with a knee injury while Walcott is trying to play his way into the first xi as he has been left out of the starting line up on several occasions since his dismal performance against Manchester United last month.
