Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has urged the team to stay cool at the Emirates stadium If they are to achieve anything this season, according to Standard sport.
Arsenal will host Watford in one of this season FA cup quaterfinal games for the first time at home since the Gunner’s dismal outing against Swansea last week.
The game against Swansea saw the supporters turn against Wenger with Henry claiming afterwards he had never seen the fans that angry in his time at Arsenal.
Mertesacker has now urged the side to stay cool despite the pressure that will be on the team to perform at the Emirates.
“We still have a good feeling at home because our spirit is great. We’ve always finished strongly and we need to repeat that. The key to doing that is to focus even more and support your team-mates even more especially in those tight games.
“We have had some great experiences recently though, especially at home to Leicester. We need to keep that up until the end, try to stay cool and believe in ourselves. That game gave us a great lift and with some players coming back, they have given us proven quality, which is something we count on.”
Mertesacker will be hoping his teammates give us something to cheer on Sunday as we look to win the FA cup trophy for the third year in a row.
