Barely a month to the winter transfer window, Mathieu Debuchy is already a wanted man, if reports are to be believed.
The French international could be set for a move away from the Emirates in January, with as many as four European clubs interested in his services already.
Debuchy has featured just once for Arsenal this season due to competition for places in the squad. He is firmly behind Carl Jenkinson and Hector Bellerin in Wenger’s pecking order and unless there is serious injury to either of the duo, he will not get anywhere near the starting xi.
But he could now get the chance to play first team football again as Juventus are considering offering him a route out of Arsenal.
According to Calcio Mercato via Gunnersphere, Juventus are considering making a move for Debuchy as replacement to the injured Dani Alves.
The Italian website claims Juventus will make a loan move for the defender in January.
A loan move might not favor Arsenal considering the defender’s situation. A permanent sale would be preferable considering his contract doesn’t run out until 2019, meaning we can still get a decent fee for selling the striker.
AS Roma and Galatasaray were also linked with the defender last week and both clubs are also said to be preparing January bids.
Wenger is reportedly open to the idea of selling the defender permanently and previous reports have claimed a bid in the region of £5m will be enough to sign the player which I think would be a good deal.
Whether on loan or on a permanent deal, Debuchy will be keen to play regularly and will want to make use of this winter transfer window to secure a move.
