Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal target Granit Xhaka has revealed that he is open to a move out of Borussia Mochengladbach, as per the Metro.
The Gunners have been linked with a move to sign the central midfielder and he is reportedly one of Arsene Wenger’s numerous central midfield taget next summer.
With Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini likely to leave the North London club next summer, it could create an opportunity to sign the midfielder.
However, Xhaka has now revealed that he will only leave Monchengladbach for a top club where he would be guaranteed playing time.
“Gladbach are a top club,” he told Bild. “But if I were someday to go to a top, top, top club, I want to play there.
“I’m not the type to be on the bench.”
The midfielder is also being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge as the Blues are keen to overhaul their squad next summer after a disastrous campaign.
However, Arsenal’s participation in the Champions League could just give them the edge over their West London rivals in the race to sign the Swiss international.
The midfielder has featured 23 times for the Bundesliga side this term and has been impressive for Andre Schubert’s side.
