Arsenal To Land ‘Next Gareth Bale’ In January After Sending Scouts To Monitor Star.

Arsenal are closing in on a January move for highly rated Turkish youngster, Batuhan Yayikci, dubbed ‘the next Gareth Bale’.

According to reports, the Gunners have sent scouts to keep watch of the progress made by the Turkish U19 International, with the likelihood that there will be an approach made to Fenerbahce for his signature come the New Year. The 18-year old is set to cost a reported £1 million which wouldn’t pose much of a hindrance if the deal were to be agreed upon.

Like the beginnings of the Real Madrid man at WhiteHeart Lane, Yayikci plays as a left back but has enormous pace and power on his left foot to see him make a progression further up the pitch in an attacking role. Little surprise, then, that his performances for the Fenerbahce Academy last season earned him instant comparison with Gareth Bale.

With less than 60 days to the opening of the January window, Wenger will be looking to search the whole of Europe for ways of strengthening his team.

The defensive deficiencies in the team has seen the conversion of one of our left backs, Nacho Monreal, to a central defender leaving us with just Kieran Gibbs. Gibbs, an excellent player so far this season, is quite renowned for being very susceptible to occasional knocks and niggles, as many are still surprised how he even came through the recent Burnley game for the whole duration looking very comfortable.

Besides injuries, the long-term investments being made for the future of the club requires that we not only have good back up players in every position but also those who will play the understudy with the aim of becoming more established for the role in the near future.

Yayikci, by the ratings he’s received, seems quite a player with a lot of potential and though his tag as the next Bale may not be the most suitable for hard core gooners, we can’t underestimate how good the ex-spurs man is at the moment, and to think he only began as a left-back.

Our January business definitely is expected to have more to do with signing at least one central defender and a defensive midfielder but that is not to say that the manager wouldn’t seize the opportunity to keep strengthening the nursery if a good chance appears.
