Olympic Marseille have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Porto striker Andre Silva, according to mercato365.com via Gunnersphere.com.
Arsenal scouts have watched Silva on several occasions this season and it is believed that the Gunners are considering a summer move.
We are set to face competition from France as Marseille have now joined the race to sign the striker.
The report claims Marseille President has been present at Porto’s game twice in recent weeks to watch the striker in action.
The French club president was reportedly at Porto’s Champions League match against Juventus to watch Silva and he was also present at their league game against Tondela a fortnight ago.
Silva has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season and Arsenal who have been impressed by his form so far will continue to monitor him until the end of the season.
Reports claim we have made signing a world class striker ahead of next season our priority and Silva is on our list of targets.
The young striker could well make a case for himself if he continues his impressive performances. Although he can’t be regarded as world class yet but obviously he has the potential to become one.
Marseille shouldn’t be a problem us should we step up our interest, we have the financial might and prestige to blow the French outfit out of the race.
