Arsenal and Chelsea are set to go head to head in the race to sign Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, according to reports.
Dembele has been in superb form for Celtic this term and his impressive performances have caught the attention of England’s big clubs.
Chelsea made enquiries about the possibility of signing the striker in the last winter transfer window and the Blues were told it would take a bid above £40m to sign the striker. Although a move didn’t materialize, Antonio Conte is heavily tipped to return for the striker in the summer.
According to the Daily Star, Wenger is now ready to rival Chelsea for the striker’s signature this summer.
The French tactician is a big fan of the striker who happens to be his compatriot and has been monitoring him since his days at Fulham. We were linked with the striker last summer but he chose to continue his development in Scotland.
It’s no surprise he is still attracting interests from top clubs as his performances this season definitely warrant such interests.
Should Wenger successfully beat Chelsea to the striker’s services, he would become one of the club’s most expensive signings.
The striker has scored 26 goals in all competitions this season helping Celtic to 27 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premier League table.
