Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal have received green light in their chase to sign Paris Saint Germain striker Edison Cavani, according to the Metro.
The Gunners have been monitoring the former Napoli striker over the past three seasons and their persistence could pay of in the summer as the striker edges close to the exit door at Paris.
The Metro now reports that the Uruguay international has told the French club to choose between himself and Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the centre forward position next season.
The reports further claims the striker is prepared to leave the french club next summer should he remain a peripheral figure behind Ibrahimovic.
Premier league clubs Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Cavani’s situation at PSG and the duo will join Arsenal in the race to sign the 28 year old striker.
Arsenal will be hoping to beat their rivals to the striker’s signature. Arsenal have reportedly stepped up their search for a striker next summer as they look to provide competition for Olivier Giroud next season.
