Guus Hiddink has confirmed that Eden Hazard is available for the trip to Arsenal, with the Belgian having returned to training this week following a groin injury.
Hazard’s poor form this season could see him start on the bench at the Emirates, with the Belgian competing with Cesc Fabregas, Willian, Oscar and Pedro for a place in the attacking midfield trio.
Pedro looks the most likely to make way should Hazard be handed a start, while Oscar will be looking to earn a recall having been dropped to the bench for the 3-3 draw with Everton. Diego Costa suffered a bruised shin against Everton last weekend, but has recovered in time to line up at the Emirates.
John Obi Mikel is a favourite of Hiddink’s and should keep his starting berth in central midfield, with Nemanja Matic remaining alongside the Nigerian, keeping Fabregas in the number ten role.
Kurt Zouma appears to be Hiddink’s preferred partner for John Terry in central defence, so Gary Cahill may have to settle for a place on the bench once again. Branislav Ivanovic and Cesar Azpilicueta are expected to continue in the full-back positions. Radamel Falcao remains out for the champions.
