He’s getting tested more and more and has not been found wanting as much, could do nothing about the equalizer. Every fall seems like an injury waiting to happen
Will need to resolve his positioning not to leave too much opening to his opposition man. His pace will be his greatest asset as a defender though Schlupp proved to be quicker. Would love a rest by the weekend.
Not much by way of sturdiness, made an important sweeping clearance in the first half. Did not have to fight aerial duels in Uljoa’s absence for most of the game.
Always has his way of scoring the vital goals while being at the same time focused on fulfilling his defensive obligations with untamed tenacity.
Did not have it easy with Mahrez, but did enough to keep Gibbs worried about reclaiming his place. The stint as a center-half has improved his reading of the game, with some vital interceptions.
“Coq blocker”, “Mr Interception”; played as a third center back at times and was unlucky to be hindered by Cambiaso in the lead up to the Leicester goal. A bit more dependability with his distribution, the final piece in his making as the one Wenger has to look for in the summer. Could have easily been the man of the match.
Quieter than usual today but was necessary to keep the tempo required to beat Leicester’s midfield wall
Not the Santi of December and January; possibly suffering from Ozil’s presence? but seem to have improved from his last game at White Hart Lane.
Ozil: 7.5 (MOTM)
Put in the yards, with his marks clearly on both Arsenal goals. Those hours in the gym seem to be paying off.
Sanchez: 4 (FOTM)
Off pace and probably should not have started. Not helped by Upson’s knock on his knee. He’s had better nights at the Emirates.
Shame he lacks the physicality of a pure breed center forward. Three in three for him now.
Ramsey: 10 Minutes cameo and then a third hamstring injury of the season. He will want this campaign to end soon.
Flamini: Plug for the hole left by Ramsey.
Giroud: Booked for walking out on the goalkeeper. Top marks, Mr Jones.
